Sunday’s Showcase – What to do in the Vancouver Area – Vancouver Family Photographer
Happy Valentine’s Day! Even as you’re celebrating today (hopefully with lots of chocolate!), it’s not too early to start thinking about next weekend. Here are some fun events around town to check out with the family.
Vancouver Symphony Orchestra
The VSO presents Tiny Tots! Jumpin’ Jazz Time. This family-friendly performance helps introduce young children to music and the arts in a fun and interactive way. Join Lisa and Linda of Let Your Music Shine for a morning filled with sing-along and move-along songs that will surely get you out of your seats.
Rogers Arena Tours
If you’ve ever wanted to take a tour of Rogers Arena, now’s your chance. The home of the Canucks is now offering insider tours that are perfect for the whole family. Get a first-hand experience of the “cathedral of hockey” while going behind the scenes to see where some of the greatest games, including the 2010 Olympics, were played. Tours are offered at 10:30, 12 and 1:30 on Saturdays.
The Coldest Night of the Year
This one-night walking fundraiser is a fun way to teach kids about giving back and raising awareness. Join others at the Gateway of Hope in Langley to help raise funds for the hungry and homeless in 64 communities across Canada. The event takes place on February 20th from 4-8pm.
Cats
Older kids might enjoy some arts culture of their own by taking in a performance of the famed Cats at the Jericho Arts Centre. Based on the poets of T.S. Eliot, it is the story of the annual gatherings of the Jellicle Cats and told in a magical way complete with an amazing score by Andrew Lloyd Weber and fantastic dancing. Get your preview now – the show will be coming back to Broadway in the near future.
