Sunday’s Showcase – What to do in the Vancouver Area – Vancouver Family Photographer
Hard to believe that next weekend is the last in September. That first month back to school really flew by! Here are some fun, family-friendly events to check out to close our your September.
Circus in the Plaza
On September 26, the circus comes to town at McBurney Plaza. Join the Inner Ring Circus for all sorts of fun and amazing acts such as stilt walkers, unicycles, jugglers and more. Your kids (or yourself) can even learn to juggle, spin plates and discover other hidden talents. There will be games, food and entertainment from Scruffles the Clown.
Mid-Autumn Moon Festival
On September 27th, take the family to the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden for the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival. This year’s Harvest Full Moon will go through a lunar eclipse that guests will be able to view throughout the evening. There will also be plenty of family-friendly activities including music, magicians, artists, performers, astronomers and even tea ceremonies. Enjoy moon cakes and learn about Chinese traditions.
World Rivers Day Celebrations
Also on Sunday, head over to the Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel for the World Rivers Day Celebrations. This free event celebrates all of the area’s rivers and waterways. Activities include entertainment by children’s entertainer Will Stroet, tours, crafts, music and more. And while you’re there, be sure to take a ride on the famed carousel.
National Tree Planting Party
If you’re looking to enjoy time as a family while helping the environment, the National Tree Planting Party at Panorama Park is the place to be on September 26th. Be a part of helping to grow Surrey’s urban forest while planting hundreds of new trees and shrubs. There will be live music, tree climbing demos, face painting, games and even a free BBQ lunch for everyone who helps to plant. All tools needed will be provided.
