Sunday’s Showcase – What to do in the Vancouver Area Next Weekend | Vancouver Family Photographer
Halloween is coming up soon. Savor the fall and the anticipation of this festive holiday with some of the fun events taking place next weekend.
Halloween Ghost Train in Stanley Park
Take a ride through Mother Goose’s Ghastly Garden at this family-friendly event in Stanley Park. The train will take visitors on a magically spooky ride through a fairy tale world. While you’re there, check out the pumpkin patch, a lantern-lit nature walk, pumpkin carving and more. The train will be in operation through November 1.
Farmers Markets
The weekend of Oct 18-19 is the last in the season for many of Vancouver’s best farmers markets. On Saturday check out the Trout Lake and West End markets while on Sunday you can visit the Kitsilano market. It may be your last chance of the year to find the season’s freshest produce, baked goods, local vendors and more. Take advantage now!
Vancouver Halloween Parade & Expo 2014
One of the events to officially kickoff Halloween, the Vancouver parade and expo is not to be missed. Taking place on Granville St. downtown, the parade will feature marching bands, floats, live performances and much more. Check out many of the superheroes and villains that will make their way to the Expo at the Sheraton Vancouver right after the parade.
Apple Festival
Another fun family event, the UBC Apple Festival at the Botanical Garden is a must-do for apple lovers everywhere. There will be a host of activities during the two-day event including an apple-tasting tent, cider-making demos, face-painting, storytelling, and of course a wide variety of apple treats such as pies, cider, candy apples and much more. Kids under 12 get in for free!
