Now that summer is getting closer, you’re probably looking forward to lazy days lounging on the beach or by the pool. Of course, you’ll need a good book to keep you company as you relax the day away. Here are some great reads to check out this summer. This is not the time for something too heavy or serious, it’s summer – time to keep it light and fun!

If you were a fan of Beverly Hills 90210, not one, but two of the show’s stars have new autobiographies out now. Jason Priestley: A Memoir and Deep Thoughts from a Hollywood Blonde by Jennie Garth are both filled with gossip and entertaining backstage stories. They’re both fun, juicy reads to compliment a sunny summer day.

If you’ve ever been on an extended-family vacation you’re sure to relate to The Vacationers by Emma Straub. Funny and dysfunctional, you’ll be thankful you’re actually vacationing with your own family instead of the fictional Posts by the end of the book!

Emily Gould’s debut novel Friendship is a thoroughly modern take on how 30-somethings view friendships today. Filled with both humor and sadness, Friendship is a relateable novel about growing up and the ways in which our own relationships evolve over time.
