In between buying school supplies and new clothes, make some time as a family to check out some of these fun events going on in the Vancouver area next weekend. Think of it as a last hurrah for the summer season.
West Side Story
Next weekend is the last to catch Theatre Under the Stars at the Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. This summer’s production is West Side Story. The classic re-telling of Romeo and Juliet will have everyone in the audience mesmerized. The exciting choreographic is coupled with classic songs such as “America” “I Feel Pretty” and “Tonight.”
Music in the Park at Leigh Square
This series of free musical performances takes place each Sunday afternoon at Leigh Square. Each performance features local musicians from the Metro Vancouver area with a wide variety of genres such as pop, rock, jazz, world fusion and blues. All ages are welcome so grab the kids, sit back, relax and listen to some great tunes.
Movies Under the Stars at Holland Park
Holland Park plays host to Movies Under the Stars. Since 2005, the fun, family-friendly event has been going strong and growing each year. The movie begins at dusk (sometime around 9pm) but make sure to come early for family entertainment beginning at 5pm. Next Saturday’s feature is Big Hero 6.
