Sunday’s Showcase – New, Creative Ideas for Photo Walls | Fall Family Photography Vancouver
We all probably have at least one in our home – the photo gallery wall. It’s a great way to transform a large, blank space. But now it’s time to get creative and change it up a bit. Here are some fun, new ideas to help you tackle your next photo gallery wall.
Don’t be afraid to mix patterns with art. You don’t need a blank, white wall to lay out your photo gallery on. Try a funky wallpaper as the base of your next gallery wall. And if it’s just one accent wall of a room – even better. Your eye will be drawn to it whenever you walk into the space, and it will be a conversation starter for sure.
Another really innovative idea – create an easily-changeable gallery wall by using chalkboard paint. This works great in a playroom, den or just about anywhere. Give your wall life by letting your kids draw pictures in and around the photos and objects already hung on the wall. And whenever you want to change a drawing, all you have to do is wipe it clean and start all over.
Who says your gallery wall needs to run horizontal or vertical? Hang things on an angle to create more visual interest and dimension.
Let there be color! Do away with the safe and simple black, white and silver frames. You can choose all one color or a multitude of hues that compliment one another. This can help breathe new life into your photos and artwork. A really fun idea is doing the frames in an ombre effect – varying shades of one color such as purple, green or red.
