New Years Day is TODAY – Happy 2017! Here are some fun special activities and events to check out with your family.
Polar Bear Swim
If you’re brave (or crazy!) check out the 37th Annual Polar Bear Swim at Centennial Beach at Boundary Bay Regional Park. In addition to the frigid waters, there will be plenty of kid-friendly activities and entertainment. Registration starts at noon with the swim scheduled for 1pm.
Winter Ice Palace
Enjoy the festivities at the 19th Annual Winter Ice Palace. A winter wonderland awaits at at Cloverdale Arena where families can skate across an old-fashioned pond. There’s only two more days to enjoy the fun .
VanDusen Festival of Lights
Take a ride to VanDusen Botanical Garden to experience the VanDusen Festival of Lights, featuring over one million lights on display. There are interactive areas, Dancing Lights show, and even a new carousel. All entry tickets include one free ride.
Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park
This is the 11th year that the lights shine bright at Capilano. This year’s new exhibit Fireflies is an interactive lighting display in the rainforest. By using giant flashlights, visitors can awaken waves of light that glimmer like fireflies. Check out the world’s tallest living Christmas tree, decorate cookies, make crafts and so much more.
