The Vancouver Aquarium
Get a hands-on lesson about life in the Arctic at this new exhibit at the Vancouver Aquarium. There will be displays, life Arctic wildlife and special programs to educate visitors about the world of the Arctic. Kids (and adults) can try their hand at the Arctic maze in the Ocean Courtyard or check out a Frozen Planet documentary in 4-D. This exhibition is not to be missed!
A Christmas Story
Yes, we know it might be just a tad early, but if you want to beat the holiday crowds, check out this classic in-person at the Arts Club Theatre Company. By now, most of us know the story of Ralphie and his quest to get a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas. This whimsical tale is a treat for the whole family, complete with a festive score and unforgettable dance sequences.
Vancouver Train Expo
If you have a train-obsessed child, the Vancouver Train Expo is the place to be next weekend. Taking plat at the Pacific National Exhibition Forum, the 33rd annual event will feature everything from models and displays to entertainment, special activities and of course, plenty of food. It’s sure to be a train-lovers dream come true.
River Market at Westminster Quay
If you’re looking to get a jump start on your holiday shopping, head over to this bi-monthly market. There will be a variety of one-of-a-kind items made by some of today’s top art makers. Everything from jewel to knitwear, the market has you covered. Not only is it a great way to introduce your kids to this type of handcraft, it’s also a wonderful way to support local artisans.
