Pet-A-Palooza Vancouver
Dog lovers rejoice. On Sunday, August 23rd, the West Coast’s largest outdoor pet festival, PET-A-PALOOZA comes back to town. There will be a ton of fun events such as bull dog races, photo lounges and lots of exhibitors. The event is free and of course, please be sure to bring your own pets. Last year’s event hosted over 12,000 people plus 10,000 dogs!
Bard on the Beach
If you want to introduce your kids to a bit more culture, check out one of the Bard on the Beach productions at Vanier Park or BMO Theatre Stage. This summer’s roster includes The Comedy of Errors, King Lear and Love’s Labour Lost. It’s a great way to introduce the kids to Shakespeare in a more causal and fun setting.
10th Annual Historic Downtown Abbotsford Carshow
If you want to have a step back in time, on August 22nd, check out the carshow in historic downtown Abbotsford. There will be plenty of classic cars from all eras, as well as family-friendly entertainment, shopping and plenty to eat. This great annual event raises funds for Matthew’s House, an organization dedicated to caring for kids with special healthcare needs.
Fair at the PNE
August 22nd is the opening day of the Fair at the Pacific National Exhibition. The fair is legendary, boasting hundreds of exhibits and performances, over 50 rides and attractions and plenty of food. Some of the special exhibits for this year include Dinosaurs Alive! A Jurassic Experience, Peter Pan starring Cathy Rigby, and Mermaid Tales in ToonCity. There will also be a summer concert series, kids farm, family play area and even a rib festival competition. You don’t want to miss this!
