Before you know it, school will be over and the summer fun can officially begin. But for now, there’s still plenty of fun to be had around Vancouver on the weekends. Get out there and explore.

FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015

Now’s your chance to enjoy some world-class soccer. The FIFA Women’s World Cup Canada 2015™ takes place now through July 5 and nine matches will be played at BC Place Stadium. This is the largest women’s sporting even in the world – so it’s definitely worth checking out. Cheer on Canada’s Women’s National Team, who took the bronze medal at the 2012 Olympic games in London.

Richmond Night Market 2015

The warm evenings are the perfect time to check out the Richmond Night Market. Each weekend, now through October, families can check out an array of vendors selling merchandise, food vendors specializing in Asian street food and desserts, as well as family-friendly entertainment. Best of all, kids 10 and under get in for free!

BC Renaissance Festival

The 9th annual Renaissance Festival is back in the village of Steller’s Grove at the Albion Fairgrounds. Get to know the 16th century villagers in person. There will be stage performances, a marketplace and of course, jousting! Don’t miss this three-day festival of fun and merriment.

Strawberry Festival

The 25th Annual Strawberry Festival takes place next Saturday at the historic Barclay Heritage Square. In addition to the delicious berries, there will be live music, raffles, vendors selling unique items, kids games and strawberry shortcake. The festival takes place from 1-4pm and admission is free.
