Sunday’s Showcase – What to do in the Vancouver Area Next Weekend – Vancouver Family Photographer
February is here and with that comes lots of winter activities. Get out there and enjoy some family time in and around town.
Beauty and the Beast
For a love story the whole family can enjoy, take the kids to see Beauty and the Beast, playing this weekend at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre. See the Broadway production right in Vancouver! Featuring unforgettable characters, lavish costumes and amazing production numbers, this show is not to be missed.
Grouse Mountain presents 24 Hours of Winter
On Saturday, Grouse Mountain will open for 24 hours for a myriad of fun events. There will be non-stop family-friendly activities including snowshoeing, zip lining, ice skiing and even movies shown in the Theatre in the Sky. Glide down The Cut to take in spectacular views of Vancouver. Let’s hope we get a crazy snowstorm before then so the mountain is covered in powder.
Red Mitten Weekend
Families headed to the BC Sports Hall of Fame should find some red mittens. Kids 12 and under that wear them will get free admission to its Family Day Weekend. There’s plenty to do while there – celebrate the 5th anniversary of Vancouver’s Olympics, see authentic Olympic medals, take part in scavenger hunts, face painting, play a variety of sports and more. The weekend is meant to inspire the athlete in all of us.
Sailing the Musical Seas
The Vancouver Symphony presents this musical adventure perfect for little ones. Take an adventure on the high seas with Presto the Porpoise, Largo to Tortoise and more. This is a great way to introduce children to classical music. The concert is geared towards children 5 and under.
