Sunday’s Showcase – What to Do in the Vancouver Area Next Weekend | Vancouver Family Photographer
Can you believe it’s almost August? The summer is going by too quickly! But there’s still plenty of time left to go out and enjoy. Here are some upcoming events to check out with the family.
Honda Celebration of Light
This is one of Vancouver’s largest events and one of the biggest fireworks competitions in the world. Watch some amazing fireworks along the English Bay as three countries compete for top honors. Japan will showcase their creations on August 2nd. In addition, there will be musical performances and a variety of food trucks to satisfy any craving.
Head over to the Lonsdale Quay Market for SummerFest! Kids will enjoy face painting, balloon designs and even Henna tattoos. Also enjoy live music, dance lessons and of course the freshest foods the market has to offer.
Carousel Theatre for Young People’s Teen Shakespeare Program
Take the kids to enjoy some culture performed by their peers. The Carousel Theatre for Young People presents Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost with a cast of teen actors. This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy live theatre presented under the stars. The best part – the performance is free! However, advanced tickets may be purchased for $5 to guarantee a seat.
Alpine Blossom Festival
Enjoy the long weekend and visit the Sun Peaks Resort for the Alpine Blossom Festival. Families can enjoy entertainment and activities including live musical performances, outdoor movie night, a kids fun zone and more. Enjoy the alpine wildflowers at the peak of their blossom and take a scenic ride on the Sunburst chairlift to get an amazing panoramic view.
