Want to plan what to do next weekend? There’s so many activities out there – you just need to know where to look. Here’s a round-up of some great family-friendly events to check out next week.
It’s still the perfect weather to catch some outdoor theater. Theatre Under the Stars is presenting Legally Blonde: The Musical at Malkin Bowl in Stanley Park. Bring some blankets, pack a picnic and watch some terrific live theater. You can also choose to sit in assigned seating and purchase food from the concessions. But aren’t picnics under the stars fun??
For a fun night out on the town head over to the Saturday Summer Sessions at Shipbuilders Square. Check out the gorgeous views across Vancouver Harbor while listening to live music from a variety of bands. There will be special kids events like jugglers, face painting and art and of course, a ton of delicious food from a a host of local food trucks.
At the Vancouver Wooden Boat Festival on Granville Island, they’ll be plenty of activities to see and do. Alongside beautiful displays of wooden boats, there will be hands-on boat-building, knot-tying demonstrations and even a sing-along of sea shanties. There will be races all weekend and the best part – admission is free!
Visit the Lepp Farm Market in Abbotsford next weekend for the Corn & Peach Festival. There will be plenty of fun activities for the kids, a yummy BBQ lunch and even a corn-eating contest. If you’re feeling lucky, enter the peach pie contest on Sunday – the winner will receive a $250 gift certificate. Proceeds from the event will benefit Matthew’s House, which provides quality health care to children in need.
