Sunday’s Showcase – Vancouver Holiday Activities
The holidays are in full swing. Amidst the cocktail parties, family gatherings and shopping, take some time to really enjoy the season around town with some of these ideas and events that are sure to put you in the holiday spirit.
A great place to start, the Vancouver Christmas Market is like a European wonderland of Christmas fun. Vendors will be on hand with traditional European fare, food, entertainment and activities for the kids. Taking place at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza, the market is not to be missed!
Visiting the 27th Annual Vancouver Festival of Trees is a wonderful tradition to start with your family. Taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel and the Pacific Centre Mall, the beautifully-decorated trees usher in the start of the holiday season. Maybe they’ll even provide some inspiration for your own tree! The best part, the event benefits the BC Children’s Hospital.
Take the kids to the Hyatt Hotel to see visit Gingerbread Lane. Here you can tour a vast array of gingerbread houses made be professional chefs, amateur bakers and even school children. The centerpiece of it all is an 11 feet tall house from Executive Chef Thomas Heinrich, which includes 500 pounds of gingerbread dough! Proceeds from the event benefit Make a Wish of BC and Yukon.
