Hard to believe Christmas is right around the corner. Have you finished up your shopping yet? If not, go get a move on it so you’re free next weekend to enjoy these fun and festive events around town!

A Christmas Story, The Musical

If you’re like most of us, you probably watch this classic movie around holiday time each year. But now your chance to see the live musical version. The Arts Club Theatre Company is presenting A Christmas Story, The Musical at the Stanley Alliance Industrial Stage now through December 27th. We all know the story – Ralphie wants nothing more than a Red Ryder BB Gun for Christmas and he’ll do just about anything to get it. This musical will surely put the whole family in the holiday spirit.

Capilano Canyon Lights

Presented by the Capilano Suspension Bridge, the Canyon Lights is not to be missed. Now in its 10th season, the light show is like no other. Take a stroll through the park to see thousands of twinkling lights light up the suspension bridge, Cliffwalk, rainforest and much more. In addition, you can see the world’s tallest living Christmas tree, decorate gingerbread cookies and make Christmas cards while singing along to a holiday band. Part of the event’s proceeds will go to the BC Professional Fire Fighters’ Burn Fund for fire/burn education in schools.

Heritage Christmas

Visit the Burnaby Village Museum & Carousel as it hosts its Heritage Christmas. There’s so much to see and do including vintage-themed displays, Eco-sculptures and the all-new 12 Days of Christmas Scavenger Hunt. There will be musicians, carolers and special guests to entertain the crowds. And no Christmas Village would be complete without an appearance by Father Christmas. Don’t forget to take a spin on the carousel and warm up with some hot cocoa too.
