Sunday’s Showcase – Freshen Up Your Space – Vancouver Family Photographer
The new year is always a great time for a fresh start (or even just a reboot). So if you’ve made a bunch of resolutions for helping to improve your self and your health this year, don’t forget about your home as well.
Your home is your space – your sanctuary. It should be a place you love to come back to, to relax and unwind. If it’s not, then it’s now time to do something about it. There are so many small things you can do (and for little money) to refresh your home now. Here are some quick changes to make your’s a happy and inviting space.
Fresh flowers
This is so simple to do. You can even buy flowers at the grocery store! A bouquet in bright colors and varying textures can brighten up any room. Get some varying sized vases and spread flowers around the house from the kitchen and dining room to the bedroom and bath.
Pillows
Another quick and easy change. Pillows can really help add personality and dimension to your rooms. Whether they’re on the living room sofa or sprawled out on the bed, a variety of pillows in different sizes, colors and patterns can really liven up your rooms.
Picture frames
Photos of loved ones is always a fantastic way to create warmth in a space. Group clusters of pictures together in a variety of complimentary frames. They don’t have to be matchy–matchy either. Use black or white frames with some colorful ones mixed in to give your displays depth and interest.
Candles
Another easy addition to any space is candles. Whatever your preference, there’s a style and scent out there to match your personality. Again, candles work in a variety of rooms and can really help set the tone. Had a hard day at work? Make a bubble bath, grab a glass of wine and light some candles. You’ll be glad you did.
With these quick and easy changes, your home will be your sanctuary in no time.
