There are so many sites out there that can help you create your photo books online. But what if you want to add some unique/special touches? Perhaps you want to make it the old-fashioned way, with prints of photographs. Here are some tips for creating your own perfect photo book that will be treasured for years to come.

If you’re making a book about summer vacation, use mementos from the trip to intersperse with your photos. You can add postcards, restaurant business cards, seashells, concert or amusement park tickets and so much more. Maybe save a page of a newspaper from where you traveled – the weather report or main headlines from your time there. Find your own special items to add to really personalize your book.

Making photo books to document your child’s growth are very popular. For example, if you’re creating one all about your child’s first year, add in photos of fun “firsts” such as first solids, bath, pigtails, swim time and more. Include an invitation from their birthday party, fabric from a favorite outfit or even a lock of hair.

If you’re creating your photo book online, look for sites that let you truly customize your project. Perhaps add in some favorite quotes that remind you of the pictures in your project. Make page backgrounds from patterns in a picture that your child drew or the starry sky from the night you got engaged. Anything that can make the book unique to your personal story is key.
