Flight of the Dragon at FlyOver Canada
This is the first week to check out Flight of the Dragon at FlyOver Canada. And while you’re there, you can also ride the original FlyOver Canada show for just one price for both. At Flight of the Dragon, experience past Chinese New Year celebrations then fasten your seat belts for a virtual flight ride with a mythical dragon. Soar over some of China’s most famous landscapes to get the full experience. Flight of the Dragon runs through March 6th.
Gulf of Georgia’s Cannery Farmers’ Market
On January 17th visit this famous indoor farmer’s market and escape the cold for a little while. This indoor winter market is operated by the Gulf of Georgia Cannery Society and features local food vendors, artisan merchants and much more inside the historic cannery venue.
Broadway Across Canada presents Dirty Dancing
Older kids might enjoy seeing the stage version of classic 80’s movie Dirty Dancing. Get ready to experience the classic story in ways you haven’t before. Expect heart-pounding music and amazing dancing to brighten up your winter day. And of course, sing along to all of the classic songs from the movie (if your kids aren’t too embarrassed, that is). January 17th is the final performance.
Family Après at Whistler Olympic Park
Take a visit to Whistler at night for the Family Après event. This free and kid-friendly event features a variety of fun activities and entertainment. In addition to decorative lighting and an outdoor skating rink, there will be activities such as mini hockey, tobogganing, snowman-building, music and of course snacks and drinks. Events change weekly.
